Brylee is going to the Chiropractor

Yes, you read it correctly, Brylee Taite has her first visit with the Chiropractor tomorrow. We carried her for her one month visit on Tuesday and she weight 9 lbs 4 oz and was 22 inches long. She received her second Hep B shot (which was horrible - I cried with her), then Dr. Barbara tells us that she has a flat spot on the back right side of her head. She was concerned because her skull is forming and if we do not get this corrected she will have to wear a helmet.

Brylee seems to favor one side no matter what she is doing - sleeping, eating, laying, playing, she always tilts her head to the same side. We had noticed the spot on her head being flatter, but it just so happened to be on the side were she had to have the vacuum used on her during delivery. So, Dr. Barbara said that she thought it would be a good idea to have her seen by a Chiropractor to make sure everything was OK. She said she already had two other infants born around the same time as Brylee that she had referred to the Chiropractor.

She said that her neck may be sore from leaning to one side so long in the womb that she may have a little crick in her neck which makes it painful to lean to the other side. She gave us some tips to try, but we opted to go ahead and have a consultation with the Chiropractor ASAP just to be on the safe side and hopefully avoid a helmet.

So please say your prayers for our little princess. We have already adjusted many things around the house to accommodate her little head. We switched everything around from her pack and play, the way she lays in her crib and bouncy seat, the way we position her during changing, tilting her head in the carrier, and swapping the side we normally feed her on. I can honestly say it has not been easy, we need a lefty. We are all right handed and it is so odd to make the changes, but hopefully it will all be worth it. She has done really well and seems to be OK lying with her head in the opposite direction. She even gets little neck and back massages during her tummy time - Dr.'s orders. She has her own little Spa Day's at the house now - bath, bottle, tummy time, and massages. What more could a girl ask for.

We were also told to bundle her up but get her outside for two hours each day to look around, and to dance, sing, and be silly with her! (This should not be a problem)

I plan to go back to work the 4th of February and she has her next visit the 5th and will be getting more shots. Thank God for my Mama because I heard her cry and just grabbed her up and started hugging her the whole time crying myself and looking at my Mama and the nurse like they were evil hags. For those that don't know it, I HATE shots and had to turn my back. But the minute that little angel screamed I was ready to kick someones butt!

So please keep us in your prayers.

Love you all!
