Back to Work... & BREAKING NEWS

Well, the day has come. I go back to work tomorrow and while I am dreading it, Mama is so excited. She will be watching Brylee and I am sure she has been counting down the days. I am so afraid I am going to miss something not being there, but who better to get to see it than one of her Grandparents. Brylee Chiropractor's sister passed away so he was in California all last week so she had no appointments, but he is back and she will see him for hopefully the last time on Monday and Wednesday of this week. Then we will have the option to continue with monthly visits if necessary. We go for shots the 5th so I will keep you posted.

Brian, Emily, and I took Brylee for a walk today and had a fun weekend playing UNO and scrabble.

And now for the Breaking News... I was just about as excited when I read this as I was when Helen called and said Kenny Chesney was coming back to Nashville in July!!! To see the full article go to http://www.people.com/.

I know, I know WHAT WONDERFUL NEWS!! :)

Enfamil Checks!

We have decided that since I am returning to work that we will be strictly formula feeding from now own. Brylee Taite does really well on the formula and she is eating just as much of it as the breastmilk. So we are making the switch for good.

We have figured it up that with the powdered formula we are paying $0.61 per bottle (versus $0.81 per bottle of the pre-mixed formula). So I have set up a log in at
http://www.enfamil.com/ and I am receiving Enfamil checks ranging from $4.00 - $7.00 EVERY WEEK. It is wonderful, because unlike a regular coupon these are little checks that can be used together. So some weeks I may only receive $7.00 but like this week I received $18.00 in total checks. I just take them and use them like a regular coupon.

One thing of formula is $26.00, so these checks are very helpful. Here is where you come in, if you would like to help us SAVE SOME MONEY while feeding Brylee Taite in the process...

Go to
http://www.enfamil.com/
Click on Join Enfamil Family Beginnings and sign up.

You will get LOTS of free stuff including the checks and we would LOVE to take them off your hands and use them. Let me know if you decide to help because the checks do expire.

They have been very helpful to us and as Jennifer always says THE MORE THE MERRIER!!

Love Ya Lots!

Congrats to the Stovall's who are expecting another little miracle!!!!!!!

Unknown Caller...

OK so we have all ran to the phone when it rings only to find that it is the dreaded UNKNOWN CALLER... Well Brian and I usually answer and immediately hang up, but not lately. I am at home all the time and I get so pissed when the phone rings and Brylee is asleep or I run to answer it only to find that it is an UNKNOWN CALLER. So we decided to have a little fun with them. You have all seen that movie ELF (which is my favorite) and if not Will Ferrell who plays the Elf "Buddy" answers the phone "Buddy the Elf, What's your favorite color."
So I started answering all UNKNOWN CALLS like this around Christmas and every time the UNKNOWN CALLER would hang up, never to be heard from again. We would just crack up every time. Well tonight, I was thrown for a loop that I did not see coming, and needless to say I was the one who hung up. I was so caught off guard. I did just as I normally do "Buddy the Elf, What's your favorite color?" and what do I hear...

UHHH - AHHHH - UHHH

GREEN!!!!

That's right folks this UNKNOWN CALLER actually gave me a color. It was as if I was shocked that he knew his colors. I could think of nothing. I rounded the corner and looked at Brian with a stunned face and quickly hung up the phone. Brian was laughing so hard when I explained what had just taken place. He was making fun of me because I was caught so off guard that I could not think of a response. So in case this happens again tell me what you would say so that I never find myself in that position again.

Thanks!

2nd Treatment & Mommy's Follow Up!

Well Ms. Brylee had her 2nd treatment today and Daddy attended. He had the same stunned look on his face that Mama and I did the last visit. Brylee cried for a few seconds and then she was calm. Mommy hid behind the Dr. because I have vowed to never watch that again unless I truly have to. Her crying was heart wrenching enough for me.

Brian and I have noticed a BIG change in her mobility and willingness to turn to her left after each treatment. Within a few hours of returning she was holding her head up and moving from side to side. He said that next time he will work some with the molding of her head and after next weeks appointment we will see where we need to go from there. So please keep praying for our little Taiterbug.

I went for my six week checkup and I was released, but I am not going back to work just yet. I will be returning Tuesday for a training session then not officially returning til the 4th. Brylee and I both have Dr. visits on the 5th so I am hoping that I can make a trade since I am going in Tuesday and get off the entire day the 5th. I also lost 27 lbs.!! I am really sad to return because Brylee is looking around and being so attentive and fun. She smiles so sweet every morning at me and I just LOVE it. I cannot imagine being away from her for 8 hours. So you might want to add me to those prayers as well.

Love you all!

1st Treatment

OK - We had our first treatment today and to say the least it was not what we expected. He laid Brylee on the chair and sat with her and began to massage and then...

(Keep in mind she is SOUND ASLEEP)
When all of the sudden and turns her head towards me and jerks it! Mama and I are stunned. Brylee's eyes are wide open and she begins to scream. We are so shocked by what we have just seen we cannot say anything. He talks to her and calms her down and then talks to us to calm us down.

I told him he should have warned us so that we could be prepared and I could have sat outside. Within seconds she was calmed down and he was massaging her. I think she was more startled from being awakened in such a fashion that she cried out. I was horrified but she seems to feel much better.

She has been turning to her left on her own and does not seem to be in any pain. She has two visits next week on Monday and Wednesday. He said that the stress of the delivery and the vacuum may have pulled some things out of alignment and he just needs to get her realigned and the muscles should start to loosen up once that takes place and she will be fine. Thus avoiding a helmet considering the flat spot is caused by the fact that she does not turn to her left alot. Thank goodness! Thanks for all the prayers, and please keep us in them.

Love You All!

Chiro Update

The Dr. said that Brylee seems to have experienced some stress during the delivery and she has some straining in her neck and back. He feels that with a few treatments we should be able to avoid a helmet. She goes tomorrow for her first treatment then will have two treatments a week for two weeks and then he will be able to determine if the treatments need to continue. She had no problem turning her head to the right (chin to shoulder) but could not go all the way to the left. She also had some curving in her spine that he plans to work with as well.

She really liked Dr. Fausnaught and we did as well. He has some new machines that allow him to treat his patients without having to crack and pop like most Chiro's do. I plan to give him a call once my little Taiterbug is taken care of.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Brylee is going to the Chiropractor

Yes, you read it correctly, Brylee Taite has her first visit with the Chiropractor tomorrow. We carried her for her one month visit on Tuesday and she weight 9 lbs 4 oz and was 22 inches long. She received her second Hep B shot (which was horrible - I cried with her), then Dr. Barbara tells us that she has a flat spot on the back right side of her head. She was concerned because her skull is forming and if we do not get this corrected she will have to wear a helmet.

Brylee seems to favor one side no matter what she is doing - sleeping, eating, laying, playing, she always tilts her head to the same side. We had noticed the spot on her head being flatter, but it just so happened to be on the side were she had to have the vacuum used on her during delivery. So, Dr. Barbara said that she thought it would be a good idea to have her seen by a Chiropractor to make sure everything was OK. She said she already had two other infants born around the same time as Brylee that she had referred to the Chiropractor.

She said that her neck may be sore from leaning to one side so long in the womb that she may have a little crick in her neck which makes it painful to lean to the other side. She gave us some tips to try, but we opted to go ahead and have a consultation with the Chiropractor ASAP just to be on the safe side and hopefully avoid a helmet.

So please say your prayers for our little princess. We have already adjusted many things around the house to accommodate her little head. We switched everything around from her pack and play, the way she lays in her crib and bouncy seat, the way we position her during changing, tilting her head in the carrier, and swapping the side we normally feed her on. I can honestly say it has not been easy, we need a lefty. We are all right handed and it is so odd to make the changes, but hopefully it will all be worth it. She has done really well and seems to be OK lying with her head in the opposite direction. She even gets little neck and back massages during her tummy time - Dr.'s orders. She has her own little Spa Day's at the house now - bath, bottle, tummy time, and massages. What more could a girl ask for.

We were also told to bundle her up but get her outside for two hours each day to look around, and to dance, sing, and be silly with her! (This should not be a problem)

I plan to go back to work the 4th of February and she has her next visit the 5th and will be getting more shots. Thank God for my Mama because I heard her cry and just grabbed her up and started hugging her the whole time crying myself and looking at my Mama and the nurse like they were evil hags. For those that don't know it, I HATE shots and had to turn my back. But the minute that little angel screamed I was ready to kick someones butt!

So please keep us in your prayers.

Love you all!

Lip Smackin'!!

Ms. Brylee is four weeks old and she is doing GREAT! She is the love of our lives. I think Brian, Emily, and I are just eating her up. No matter what she does it is just fabulous. Laney and Lilley feel the same way. She does the cutest little thing when she finishes her bottles. She makes a smacking sound with her lips. That is how you know that she is finished and satisfied. If she doesn't make the sound she is still hungry.

Emily came and stayed with us to ring in the New Year. She is such a helpful Big Sis and Brylee just loves it when she talks to her. Brylee and I were in the bed around 10pm New Year's Eve and Daddy and Emily were going to stay up. Emily made it to 11:30pm and then crashed in her chair. And NO WONDER SHE CRASHED...

I had asked her earlier in the evening if she was planning to have vodka or beer this New Year's, and she replies... "I don't think I am supposed to have any of that stuff."

So I went into the kitchen and filled a martini glass with water and brought it to her. I wished I would have had my camera ready to see her expression. She looked at me like I had LOST my mind completely. Then I explained that it was just water, and all night long she was taking her bottled water and filling the martini glass and drinking out of it. It was so funny.

Hope you all had a Happy New Year!
